Draft: Before publishing, replace the bracketed developer and email fields, complete the children’s privacy section, and confirm that this policy matches the version of the app you distribute. Remove this notice when those details are complete.
This policy explains how Slava Bell (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the AngleMate Android app. AngleMate provides bubble level, camera alignment, and screen ruler tools.
Privacy contact: sb@iambell.com.
AngleMate uses your device’s motion and orientation readings, including accelerometer readings, to calculate angles and display level and alignment information. These readings and the resulting measurements are processed on your device. We do not upload them to our servers or send them to advertising providers. The app does not maintain a persistent measurement history.
The Laser Level tool requests camera permission to display a live rear-camera preview with an alignment guide. This preview stays on your device. AngleMate does not record, save, or upload photos or video from the preview, and does not send camera images to Google AdMob. Camera access stops when the preview is closed or the app goes into the background.
The flashlight feature uses the device’s camera light where available. You can deny or revoke camera permission through Android’s app settings; the camera preview will then be unavailable.
The app saves preferences such as measurement precision, smoothing, sound, display options, and ruler calibration in local app storage so that they remain available between sessions. AngleMate does not operate a cloud synchronization service for these preferences.
Android’s backup and device-transfer services may include app settings, depending on your device configuration. These services are controlled by your operating system and account settings.
AngleMate does not require an account and does not ask you to provide your name, email address, or phone number to use its measurement tools. The app does not request access to your contacts, microphone, or precise GPS location.
Versions of AngleMate with advertising enabled use Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display ads. Ad-related processing applies when these services are active.
Google’s advertising SDK can collect and share:
Google uses this information for ad delivery, measurement and analytics, and fraud prevention. Ad personalization depends on your choices, applicable requirements, and service settings. Choosing non-personalized ads does not necessarily stop all ad-related data processing.
AngleMate does not include a separate Firebase Analytics or application crash-reporting service. This does not exclude diagnostics and measurement collected by Google’s advertising SDK.
More information is available in Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. Ad-related data collection and sharing are also described in Google’s Mobile Ads SDK data disclosures.
In supported regions where a consent message is required, AngleMate uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present privacy choices. This service manages consent preferences and determines whether advertising requests can proceed.
When available, open App Settings → Privacy choices in AngleMate to review or change your advertising consent choices. The availability of this option depends on regional requirements and Google’s consent service.
You can also manage advertising ID controls in Android settings and review Google’s ad personalization controls. Your available options vary by Android version and device. Withdrawing consent affects future processing that depends on that consent; it does not automatically delete information already held by Google.
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, the content of your message, and any information or attachments you choose to provide. We use that information to answer your question, provide support, and handle privacy requests. Avoid sending camera images or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.
Ad-related information is processed by Google and, where applicable, advertising providers involved in delivering or measuring ads. Google’s consent message identifies the advertising providers applicable to the choices shown there. Their processing is subject to the relevant provider’s policies and your applicable privacy choices.
Support communications are processed through the email services used to receive and respond to them. Information may also be disclosed when necessary to comply with applicable law or protect legal rights. We do not send your measurement readings or camera previews to these providers.
Live measurement data and camera previews are used during operation and are not saved as a measurement history or recording by AngleMate. Preferences remain in local app storage until they are changed, app storage is cleared, or the app is removed. Android backups or device transfers may retain or restore settings separately.
To remove local app data, use Android Settings → Apps → AngleMate → Storage → Clear storage, or the equivalent controls on your device. Clearing app storage does not delete data that Google or another provider has already received.
We retain support communications only for as long as reasonably necessary to address the inquiry and meet applicable legal obligations. Contact us to request deletion of information you have sent us. Google controls the retention and deletion of information it processes under its policies; use Google’s privacy controls or contact Google for requests relating to that information.
AngleMate uses the operating system’s app storage and permission controls for local information. Google states that data collected by its Mobile Ads SDK is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS). No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
Google and other service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. Google’s policies describe its international processing and applicable transfer safeguards.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data protection authority. Contact us using the email below for requests about information we hold. We may need enough information to verify and respond to your request.
We cannot retrieve measurement readings or camera previews that the app never sends to us. Requests about data controlled by Google should be directed to Google through its privacy controls or contact channels.
We may update this policy as AngleMate’s features or data practices change. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. We will provide any additional notice or request consent where applicable requirements call for it.
